By combining large pre-trained models with 3D geometry understanding, SkillReal enables automatic detection of assembly misalignments, quality issues, and missing features without the need for part-specific AI training.

THE TECHNOLOGY

SkillReal’s open platform combines patented computer vision, continuous camera calibration, and accelerated, pre-trained large AI models. It is engineered to accurately and reliably inspect hundreds of manufacturing features within the cycle time, while maintaining exceptional resilience to changing environmental and lighting conditions. SkillReal platform includes several key technologies:

  1. New camera calibration technology –  sub-pixel accuracy with standard cameras, leveraging NVIDIA GPUs to generate undistorted images in real time.

To meet strict cycle time requirements, SkillReal collaborated with NVIDIA to accelerate inference using TensorRT and GPU-level code optimization.

Our base large pre-trained AI models are trained in the cloud using NVIDIA Tensor Core GPUs with over 30,000 real images and millions of augmentations, and optimized versions are deployed at the edge for real-time inference that, together with the skillreal patented 3D AI technology, deliver above 99.7% accuracy for most features. In most deployments, inference runs on high-performance edge workstations equipped with NVIDIA RTX GPUs, ensuring minimal latency and full operation within production cycle times.

SkillReal supports standard off-the-shelf industrial cameras, which are pre-calibrated using SkillReal’s proprietary sub-pixel accuracy calibration technology to ensure precise, reliable measurements.
